Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Discount Gate is operated by Soholab Agency (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The app enables Shopify merchants to configure discounts for selected payment methods. This policy covers information processed in connection with the app and app-related support.

Merchants determine how their customers' information is used in their stores. When processing customer and order information to provide Discount Gate, we act on the merchant's behalf. We are responsible for our own handling of app support correspondence. Shopify's own processing is described in Shopify's Privacy Policy; purchases from a merchant are also governed by that merchant's privacy policy.

2. Information the app accesses and processes

Discount Gate processes store order data and customer data through permissions granted by the merchant in Shopify. Its published Shopify permission disclosures include:

• Store-owner information: name, email address, phone number, and physical address.
• Customer information: customer records, including access to physical address and device/activity information such as geolocation, IP address, browser, and operating system where available through Shopify.
• Order information: order records within the app's authorized access, currently including the last 60 days of order history.
• Store configuration: products, collections, discount codes, promotions, price rules, and discount allocator functions used to configure and operate discounts.
• Support information: the contact details and information you choose to send when requesting assistance. Do not send payment-card details, passwords, or unnecessary customer information.

Permission to access a category does not mean every field is copied or retained. Access depends on Shopify's authorization controls and the features used. Information is obtained from Shopify, merchant configuration, and communications sent to us.

3. Why information is used

Information is processed to configure and apply payment-method discount rules, provide app reporting, maintain and troubleshoot the app, respond to support requests, protect the service against misuse, and meet applicable legal and privacy obligations. Payment-method eligibility is not the same as collecting payment credentials.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our agreement with merchants, legitimate interests in supporting and securing the service, and compliance with legal obligations. Customer information is processed under merchant instructions; merchants are responsible for the legal basis and notices for their customer processing. Where consent is legally required, that requirement still applies.

4. Storage, recipients, and international processing

Discount Gate's customer and order data is stored within Shopify's store infrastructure. Shopify hosts and processes this information as part of its platform. Merchants can access information for their own stores, and Soholab Agency accesses information as needed to provide support and operate the app within the permissions granted.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, a valid legal request, or to protect legal rights and the security of the service. This policy does not authorize unrelated advertising use or sale of customer data.

Shopify's infrastructure may process information outside the merchant's or customer's country. Its locations and transfer arrangements are governed by Shopify's applicable terms and Data Processing Addendum. Where Soholab is responsible for a restricted international transfer, applicable safeguards are required. Contact us for information relevant to your request; this policy does not promise a particular hosting country.

5. Retention and uninstalling

App-related customer and order data is retained as needed while the app is installed. Data held for Discount Gate is deleted within 30 days after uninstalling, except where a legal obligation requires retention. Any legally required retained information is limited to that purpose.

This deletion commitment concerns app-held information. It does not delete the merchant's original Shopify customer or order records or override Shopify's independent retention obligations. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the inquiry and meet applicable legal obligations.

6. Privacy requests and Shopify compliance webhooks

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Customers should normally contact the merchant whose store they used so the merchant can identify the records and coordinate the request. Merchants and other individuals may also email info@soholab.ae. We may need proportionate information to verify identity and authority before acting.

Discount Gate supports Shopify's mandatory privacy compliance webhooks for customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction following uninstall. Requests received through these mechanisms are handled within Shopify's required 30-day response window, subject to legally required retention. Shopify generally issues shop-redaction notifications 48 hours after uninstall; our uninstall retention commitment remains 30 days after uninstall.

7. Security

App access is subject to Shopify's permissions and platform controls. We limit information handling to the app's purposes and authorized access. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Please report suspected unauthorized access involving Discount Gate to info@soholab.ae.

8. Cookies and this policy page

This policy page does not include analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or client-side tracking cookies. Shopify may use cookies and similar technologies in its admin and checkout environments under its own policies. A merchant's separate storefront tracking is governed by the merchant's disclosures and consent choices.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when app practices or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest update. Where required, material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
